Oneonta and Clearfield Job Corps graduate Canute Armstrong is living out his dreams while painting planes black, blue and sometimes even splatters of fluorescent green.
In October 2015, Canute enrolled at Oneonta Job Corps Center to earn his high school diploma and gain the hands-on training and education needed to kickstart his career.
While at Oneonta Job Corps, Canute trained in Automotive and Machine Repair and worked as a shop foreman in the Auto Body Repair shop. He also held a part-time job at Home Depot to make extra money while learning in his training program.
Canute also remained a dedicated member to the OJCA Military Cadet Program throughout his training at Job Corps.
Canute’s determination and leadership helped guide him in the direction of applying for advanced training at Clearfield Job Corps Center in Utah. In 2018, Canute graduated with the Advanced Collision Repair and Refinish training program and was hired by Duncan Aviation, where he paints planes for airlines and private owners.
Canute just purchased his first home and spends every day doing what he loves most, painting planes!
