“Job Corps is the best opportunity I have ever received. I will always recommend Job Corps to others, and even with my patients, I share my experience. I will always be thankful.”
Carla Lopez uses the skills she acquired through her Job Corps training daily in her career, such as preparing and helping patients, sanitizing equipment, and performing EKG tests.
Originally from Asheboro, N.C., Carla felt stuck in her current situation and was looking for an opportunity to strive for more in her life. Once she found out about the benefits and hands-on training Job Corps provides, she knew it would be a great opportunity. Carla enrolled in the Clinical Medical Assistant program at the Whitney M. Young Job Corps Center.
The training she received exceeded her expectations and provided her with the tools to excel in the medical field. Carla’s teachers encouraged her to achieve success and were always there to guide her along
the way.
She graduated from Whitney M. Young Job Corps Center in January 2016 with her clinical medical assistant training and phlebotomy certification, and is now a certified medical assistant at Wake Forest Baptist Health.
