Cleveland native Daylon F. worked a couple of odd jobs, but his lack of credentials kept him from reaching his earning potential and meeting his expectations for his life.
“I wanted something better in life and to be a good role model for my children,” Daylon said.
He decided to enroll in Job Corps at the Cleveland center because he enjoys hands-on training and was interested in bricklaying and carpentry. He received his high school diploma, acquired multiple certifications, and completed his training in 2014. After graduating, he began working at Warwick Products as a painter. He is still working there as he pursues his welding credentials at Ohio Technical College. After finishing school, he plans to search for an employment opportunity in building trade unions.
“I appreciate the training and services I received from the Cleveland Job Corps Center,” Daylon said. “It has helped me be more independent, and without it, I would probably have never received my high school diploma.”
