Don Johnson III graduated from Treasure Island Job Corps Center in 2016. While at Job Corps, Don was successful in creating a partnership with the San Francisco Mayor’s Office for work-based learning internships. After leaving Job Corps, Don went on to complete a career technical training program with the Springboard Initiative.
It has now been a year since Don left Treasure Island Job Corps, and he has secured a full-time position as an associate IT support specialist at Ellie Mae Inc. When asked how Job Corps helped prepare him for his current job, he said, “Job Corps taught me to always dress appropriately and be professional.”
On top of his technical support duties, Don utilizes the skills he learned in office administration by doing inventory using Microsoft Excel, filing, and answering phone calls and e-mails. Don is very happy working at Ellie Mae making more than $23/hour.
