Prior to entering the Montgomery Job Corps Center, Jonathan Terrell was undecided about his future aspirations; but he knew he had a goal of first getting a high school diploma and a driver’s license. Jonathan knew that he loved the outdoors, and as a child has always had a fascination with cars. This fascination led to a desire to work in the automotive industry after earning his high school diploma.
Jonathan heard about Job Corps and the opportunities it could provide for him in this industry, and shortly after started his training in Job Corps’ Automotive Services program. During his time in Automotive Services, he began to think about what steps he should take after graduating.
“Job Corps instilled a desire to continue learning within me,” Jonathan said. “I knew I wanted to continue my training, and I have Job Corps to thank for the foundation of my career.”
After earning his certification in Automotive Services, he attended Edison Job Corps’ Advanced Career Training program in Automotive Transmission and Engine Repair. Upon completion of his training, Terrell moved back to his hometown of Montgomery, Ala., and now works as the delivery carrier for O’Reilly Auto Parts Store.
