After his father discussed the Job Corps program with him, Jordan Ussery decided to enroll. He earned his high school diploma from Penn Foster, and he obtained his Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, ServSafe, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Phlebotomy Technician, and Certified Electrocardiogram Technician credentials.
“Job Corps is not to be considered an alternative to college, but a valuable resource to the young men and women who need a year or two to change their environment, attitude, and their future,” Jordan said.
In October 2018, enlisted with the United States Navy. The 21-year-old will be studying to become a sonar technician. He feels that the resources he received from the Cleveland Job Corps Center and resources he will receive from the United States Navy will offer him with a bright future.
