Lorra Santos enrolled at the Treasure Island Job Corps Center in 2017 hoping to pursue a career in the medical field. While at Job Corps, she completed all the required coursework to become a clinical medical assistant and maintained a 4.5 CSSR score. Lorra also completed an internship with Direct Urgent Care, where she administered flu vaccines, HIV tests, electrocardiograms, and blood injections.
Upon completing the internship, Lorra was offered a full-time position; but she turned down the offer due to scheduling conflicts. Instead, she decided to continue her studies at Contra Costa College and plans to transfer to a 4-year university to study nursing.
